Richard Ware, Chief Investment Officer, Chesapeake Wealth Management, oversees asset management for individual, family and institutional clients, leads the firm's investment team, and enhances CWM's investment process and strategy.
Mr. Ware has more than three decades’ experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining CWM, he was the Senior Vice President and equity manager at The Trust Company of Virginia, the Vice President for Trust and Investments at Jefferson National Bank/Wachovia, and the regional retail manager for Manufacturer's Hanover. He is the Immediate Past President of the CFA Society of Virginia.
Among his community service activities, Mr. Ware is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Richmond, William and Mary Executive Partners, and Habitat for Humanity. He is a former board member of Chi Phi House Association, River Road Hills, and Kanawha Recreation Association. He has served as a volunteer fundraiser for the YMCA, Hampden-Sydney College, Collegiate School, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Mr. Ware is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College (BS in Mathematics and Economics). He earned his MBA degree at the College of William and Mary. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
